Intuition is part of rational thinking. We rarely follow the formal rules of logic. When we are thinking through a decision or problem, we tend to jump back and forth between conscientiously applied analysis and intuition. Cause we generally have insufficient info and too little time to gather it when we reason, we skip many of the intermediary steps required by strict logic and leap to conclusions that are not strictly defensible.
